Vote your opinion in the poll how an end of the season tie between racers should be handled.
This issue will be discussed in the next CCCA mtg. This poll is only to get an idea of what people think.

I don't know what the track rules are however I believe it should always be a race off.

The track rules vary, but basically you take the racers last reaction time and how close they come to their et. The racer that is closet, wins.

I did vote "Race-off", but I include the caveat that it should be held at the same track if it is a track-specific series Wink

Understood Jonathan. The real details will be a discussion in our next mtg which i will post the date in the next few days. The poll is just to get a basic feel of what people think. It isn't going to be any deciding factor. Only a vote at a CCCA mtg will determine that. Smile

I like the way we have always done it. I Thought it was even in the rules or used to be..

Howdy Ellis. You, like myself prefer a race-off, but there are some unforseens to take into consideration. For example, what if the raceoff is the last CCCA race of the season, and we get rained out like last Saturday? Also, what if there is a 3-way tie for first place. If we don't consider that, then it will be the next thing to bite us. Laughing

AH I see. This was one of those things that was affected by using a points system other then the one we originaly desighned. Well it is going to have to be a fair setup up but a race off of some sort is the correct answer IMHO.

Using a single aspect of a run like Reaction time is not a fair indicator of an entire season of work.

Either a Race Off or possibly a split / shared championship? The 2 drivers did win it during the regular season after all.

I knew he was going to say that!! (I won't go into details, but everyone knows what I'm talking about) I vote for a race off and, to me, it doesn't matter what track it's at!! Especially if it's at the last race of the season. (I don't know how to access the actual poll to vote)

Travis, this issue was resolved by a vote in the January CCCA Mtg. ref http://www.carclub-challenge.com/CCCA_Meeting_jan_30_2011.pdf

Proposal 3 passed. Here is what Proposal 3 (offered by Steve Neel) says:

Prop 3- Steve Neel - If there is a tie at the last race of a given track, there shall be a run-off as determined by the CCCA Race Director. It must occur at that event. If the Race Director has determined that a run-off is not possible, then the final determination shall be made using the Best Package from eliminations of that race.

This proposal is shown in the November mtg Minutes located here: http://carclub-challenge.com/CCCA_Nov_14th_2010.pdf

The CCCA Rules pages was updated in January at this location http://www.carclub-challenge.com/racerules.htm
