| Here is my winter project. Not looking too good now, but I have a long time to finish at this point. Scribner junked my rear housing when he saw it, and the 28 spline axles, and we are going to a big tube, tapered housing with 35 spline spool and axles. We're keeping the same brake mounts so I don't have to change those. And its getting a set of Cal-Tracs which I already have. And we have to replace the input/output shafts of the tranny. That should take care of that part for awhile! I was going to trade a friend for his Hurst v-gate shifter and give him my competition plus but after talking to Hurst and looking around there are no more parts to do this as it has been long ago discontinued. Long makes one for the toploader but its really expensive, so i guess we'll keep what we have. Anyone have any ideas on this. The only thing I can think of is just to fab your own parts. (if you can) I don't know hard it would be to replicate the linkages that I have now. | |

| Jeff, your gonna have one healthy machine when it is all together. I think that I am going to have to get some Cal tracs also. What is the ECD of the project? | |

| Hey Kent, I should get my rear end back from Scribner next week, and then I need Jason C.'s help rebuilding the tranny. Since there's no rush to get it finished now, I think I'm going to go ahead and pull the power steering and see about putting a manual box in. I've hated that power steering pump for years and will be glad to see it gone, but it raises another problem....my fan and water pump run off that power steering belt. How do I adjust tension with the pump gone?? I have to go back to OK. again soon to take care of more of my brothers things so realistically I'd like to have the ECD around mid-Nov.
Hey, whats the story on the red car in your photo. I don't believe I've seen that car before. (or I don't remember) Is it yours??

Hey, whats the story on the red car in your photo. I don't believe I've seen that car before. (or I don't remember) Is it yours?? Change pulley sets so they will align with water pump, Altenator and crank. Then you use your Altenator adjustment to adjust your belt. Let me know when you have some time and I will bring some pulleys by for you to check.

| My winter plan for winter was to work on my bottom part of the engine (upgrade to forged piston or going a little bigger). However, unexpected thing happen (one of my piston break after hitting with valve while I did test & tune in PIR last weekend) so I have to start my project now. Still debating between staying with 345 w/ forged piston, crank, and rod; or going 400. Any suggestion? | |

| Hey Jason, call me when you get a chance and lets talk about the pulleys and the tranny. 206-718-9990
Jeff~
P.S. Got a bracket I made welded to my clutch pedal and the Rev limiter switch installed. Fired up the car today and tested it and works good. Should not have to worry about that anymore. One less thing.....

| I picked up an SLP line lock for my car, just have to get to Slimmy's to get it put in, but I need to figure out where to mount the switch...and if I'm staying with the toggle or going with a push button. | |

get a shorter belt? Shorter belt isn't the answer. He has pulley misalignment issues.
